The Niger State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, has announced that the party has submitted the names of Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago and Comrade Yakubu Garba to the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, as governorship and deputy candidates for the upcoming general elections in 2023.
The party disclosed the information in a statement signed by its publicity secretary in Minna, Mr. Musa D. Sarkindaji.
The current state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, is Comrade Yakubu Garba.
The honorable Jikantoro explained that the decision was made by the party following extensive consultations with relevant state stakeholders.
The Chairman stated, “The party conducted extensive consultations with key stakeholders before appointing Yakubu Garba as the deputy chairman of the National Labour Congress (NLC).”
The decision is consistent with Comrade Yakubu Garba’s track record within the state civil service.
Additionally, he characterized the decision as “good thinking, good combination, and good product for the state.”In order to propel Niger State to greater heights, he then urged Nigerlites to grant the party and its candidates the highest level of support.
