The rise of young artistes in Nigeria leads to one question of ‘Who will be the next big export in Nigeria?’.

Today’s article will be centered on the career of Blaqbonez and Cheque — two rappers who have shown that they are not here to play.

BIOGRAPHY

Akambi Bamidele Brett popularly known as Cheque was born on the 23rd of March 1995 which makes him about 26 years of age. He is Yoruba by tribe, from Ondo State, Nigeria.

In contrast, Emeka Akumefule also known as Blaqbonez or Emeka The Stallion was born on the 29th of February 1996 which makes him one year younger than Cheque. He hails from Imo State, that is, he belongs to the Igbo native group.

CAREER

The young artistes have shown that they’re not slowing down, as can be seen in their works. They have been responsible for most hit tracks that have been released this year.

Before being signed to Penthauze Label, Cheque recorded songs including ‘Loco’, which was in his EP which he titled ‘S.O.O.N EP’. After being signed, he released songs which cemented him as one of the fastest growing artistes in Nigeria. These songs include ‘Zoom’, ‘LOML’ all of these and many other songs which are included in his album ‘Bravo’.

In 2018, he released one of his first album titled ‘Bad Boy Blaq’. After releasing that album, he released his second album, which was a follow-up to the first and was titled ‘Bad Boy Blaq ReUp’. That album topped charts nationwide and recorded massive acceptance from fans of hip-hop. Song which he has released include ‘Shut Up’, ‘Heart Breaker’, ‘Fendi’, ‘Mr. Bombastic’.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

Just like every worker gets reward for his work, Cheque and Blaqbonez have also been recognized for their hard work in the music industry.

For Cheque, he has received honors and nominations from NET Awards, Headies Award, Afrimma.

Blaqbonez is not exempted in getting nominations as he has been recognized by awarding bodies such as the Headies Award, Afrimma, Nigeria Entertainment Award and many others.

RELATIONSHIP STATUS

The two are very private when it comes to their relationship status. So for now, it is unknown whether they’re in a relationship or not.

All in all, we really do not need to compare them. They’re two young artistes doing what they love doing. We just need to sit back, relax and enjoy the two while we still have them. If they continue going at this rate, they’re both going to be greats in the music game for sure.
